Internships

To provide educators with the opportunity to experience firsthand the role of historians, archaeologists, and history museum professionals, Turning Points is connecting educators with area museums and cultural heritage institutions. Five educators will be selected from applicants to receive a $1,000 stipend to intern at a local history museum or cultural heritage organization, which will extend their learning beyond the workshops and experiences offered by Turning Points’ programs.

Teachers who attend at least 40 hours of Turning Points’ offerings and outline the desired roles, responsibilities, and outcomes of the experience may apply for internship funds. Turning Points’ staff will match the applicant with an organization based upon the educator’s desired experience and the organization’s capacity to fulfill the educator’s request. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Please send the following items as email attachments to wendy at turningpointsinamericanhistory (dot) org so that we might match you with an appropriate museum or cultural heritage institution.
- A short writing sample (approximately 2 pages)
- A resume

We will be contacting you within two weeks of your application; however, if you have any questions about the process, please do not hesitate to contact us.
